Building Bridges

/

Army veteran Ieshia is a single mom of two young kids and works hard to support her family. A recent move and separation from her partner resulted in Iesha falling behind on monthly expenses, which only compounded her struggle with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) from her deployment to Iraq. Needing support and help out of the darkness, Ieshia reached out to the Boot Campaign.

“When things get hard, you sometimes wonder how will you make it work. But with organizations like this, it relieves some of the immediate stress off of the parent/soldiers,” she explains. “Thank you, thank you, thank you so much and may God bless each and every one of you.”

With a grant from the Boot Campaign, Ieshia was able to catch up and even get ahead on her bills. We also connected her with our partner Courage Beyond, who offer PTSD counseling to service members, veterans and their families in all 50 states at no charge. Boot Campaign knows that no single organization can ease the diverse and complex hardships that face military families, so we work closely with other like-minded nonprofits to get our heroes the help they need, whatever it may be. We wish Ieshia and her kiddos the best and brightest future – they deserve it.
