Cheers to 10 Years of Toasting Our Troops with Shiner

/

A lot can change in a decade, but we are sure thankful for the things that remain the same year after year. Like that first sip of your favorite, cool beverage at the start of summer, or the ability to gather and celebrate the great freedoms we have in our country.

We’re especially honored and thankful for the decade-long partnership and support from the team at The Gambrinus Company, the privately held craft beer company best known as the owner and brewer of Shiner Beer.

Since 2011, Shiner has chosen Boot Campaign as beneficiary for their annual Toast Our Troops program, continuing their long-standing tradition of supporting our country’s military men and women. Their efforts have raised well over $1,500,000 for our vital programs designed to provide individualized, life-improving care for veterans and their families over the last decade.

Recently, members of our staff laced up with the team from Gambrinus in Shiner, Texas at the Spoetzl Brewery to present them with a framed Boot Campaign flag as a thank you for their decade of support. The flag, signed by longtime Boot Campaign supporter and founder of our Health and Wellness program LT. Morgan Luttrell, U.S. Navy (Retired) along with his twin brother U.S. Navy Veteran Marcus Luttrell will be on display and featured during tours of their world-class facility.

“We couldn’t be more proud to show our continued support of the Boot Campaign for ten years now,” said Shiner’s Assistant Brewmaster, Greg Hybner. “Shiner has a long-standing tradition of supporting our veterans and giving back to those who have served our country.”

The impact of Shiner’s support for our mission over the last 10 years has enabled us to serve more veterans and military families every year. As time has passed, we have also evolved and expanded our programs in veteran health and wellness, focusing on the invisible wounds of war veterans struggle with as they return home. Shiner has remained steadfast in their support, and is one of the many reasons we have numerous testimonies from veterans who have participated in our programs, like Tim Travis, MSGT, U.S. Army, (Retired) who sharedThe medical treatment I received was the best I have received in my life. The individualized care and attention to detail was phenomenal, and it was all absolutely free to the veteran.

“We’re proud to have veterans on our team at the brewery and we’re honored to partner with an organization that is dedicated to the wellbeing of veterans everywhere,” said Hybner. “The entire team here in Shiner salutes the critical mission of the Boot Campaign and looks forward to our ongoing partnership for years to come!”
