Celebrity Supporter – Mrs. California International 2013!
Our Celebrity Supporter of the week is….. Shana Smith! Mrs. California International 2013 and Armed Forces Insurance Military Spouse of the year for 2013!
For six years, Shana has been married to US Army Reservist, SFC Grant Smith and they have a beautiful nine-year-old daughter. Shana and her family are no strangers to training exercises and deployments. She says, “with each new deployment or training exercise, we learn new things and it just makes us a stronger family unit.” Shana is a strong believer that military spouses need to stick together and support each other. “In the end we are the only ones that understand what it’s like to walk in each other’s shoes,” says Shana.
We were ecstatic to learn that Shana was ready to get her BOOTS ON to show her support and gratitude for the men and women of our military. One of the first things she told us was, “Being a part of the Boot Campaign and rocking my BOOTS at appearances is such an honor – I love it when people ask me about my BOOTS and what they mean to me. They mean something bigger, I support a mighty force, I represent 1.1 million military spouses that walk the walk and talk the talk supporting our service members each day. I wear my BOOTS to honor the memories of those fallen and their families who will never be the same.”

I am so excited to share with you my BOOT shoot for the Boot Campaign. I am over the moon excited to be part of this movement. I was introduced to the Boot Girls a few months ago and after talking to Boot Girl Christina for 10 minutes I was attached.
5 women started a movement that is now reaching globally with their boot sales and support is no short order and one I am very proud to support. Being able to strap on my boots under such a beautiful gown and supporting our military in this unique way was awesome! I even had to enlist the help of my Soldier husband to properly lace my boots – his best advice was left in a note on the fridge “I know it’s uncomfortable but DON’T forget to tuck your laces!” As Christina, Gwen, and Meghan at the Boot Campaign have told me… you should think about grabbing your boots instead of your heels and support our troops!….. YES, I will be doing that this year! – Shana Smith
