Boot Campaign Announces 3rd Annual Boot Walk with Granger Smith

APRIL 7-11, 2013

Austin, TX (February 11, 2013) — For the third straight year, country music artist Granger Smith is walking 100 miles in his BOOTS!  All funds raised through the Boot Walk will benefit the Boot Campaign, a national 501c3 non-profit dedicated to showing tangible appreciation of our active military, raising awareness of the challenges they face upon return and supporting their transition home.

On April 7, 2013 Granger Smith will start his 100-mile journey in Austin, TX, which culminates in a concert on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Fort Hood.

“It has always been important to me to help raise awareness, morale and patriotism for our freedom fighters. It’s easy to forget we’re still a country at war and we want this year’s campaign to be bigger and better than the last,” says Granger. “To reach more people; to raise more money for Boot Campaign; to remind people to thank a soldier… They volunteer to ensure our way of life.”

Since 2011, Granger has logged 200 miles in his BOOTS—his way of paying tribute to all those serving our country in the U.S. Armed Forces.  Through the 2nd Annual Boot Walk in 2012, Granger Smith raised more than $15,000 in support funds for the Boot Campaign’s five initiatives—Jobs, Housing, Wellness, Family Support and Urgent Assistance.   For the 3rd Annual Boot Walk, Granger has set a goal of raising $20,000 for the Boot Campaign.

Regardless of whether you can physically join Granger Smith in your BOOTS, you can still get involved and create a Boot Walk Fundraising Team! Use your team to encourage your family, friends and co-workers to make a donation to motivate Granger on his 100-mile walk.
