Benchmark Mortgage Raises $300,000 Through 2nd Annual Boot ‘n Shoot

Annual Event Held at Dallas Gun Club featuring after party with live performance by Sammy Kershaw, all to benefit the military assistance programs of the nonprofit, Boot Campaign.

Austin, TX (June 7, 2013) – With a long-standing commitment to honoring and supporting U.S. Armed Forces, Plano, TX based Benchmark Mortgage hosted the 2nd Annual Boot ‘n Shoot on Friday, April 12, 2013 at the Dallas Gun Club. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Boot Campaign, a national 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to showing tangible appreciation for our active military, raising awareness of the challenges they face upon return and supporting their transition home.

500 people, including 65 U.S. Military Veterans, enjoyed the sporting clay tournament and after party at the Dallas Gun Club.  WFAA’S Pete Delkus served as emcee while country music legend Sammy Kershaw kept the party rocking!  During the after party, Benchmark Mortgage and the Boot Campaign presented Purple Heart Recipient SSgt. Johnny “Joey” Jones (USMC Ret.) with Housing Assistance. A spirited auction featured a signed guitar from Sammy Kershaw, duck hunt, fishing tournament, dinner at Texas Governor’s Mansion and much more!

The Boot Campaign

The Boot Campaign is a national 501c3 patriotic movement that is dedicated to showing tangible appreciation of our active military, raising awareness of the challenges they face upon return and supporting their transition home.  Through the sale of its signature military combat boots, general public donations, and corporate sponsorship, the Boot Campaign operates five distinct initiatives — Housing, Jobs, Wellness, Urgent Assistance and Family Support– that are caring for military personnel, past and present, healing from a variety of physical and emotional combat wounds, embodying the campaign motto that, “When They Come Back, We Give Back”.
