Behind the success of the Boot Campaign is a talented, dedicated team who, on most days, make this endeavor look easy. Every day, they make it fun with their creative, unique contributions to something they love almost more than sleep and food.

Morgan

Chief Executive Officer (Interim)

A personal letter sent from Morgan (in Afghanistan at the time) to the five founding Boot Girls, whom he had yet to meet, inspired the Boot Campaign to flourish! If it weren’t for his encouragement, Boot Campaign wouldn’t exist today. As a newly retired Navy SEAL, Morgan just completed 14 years in active duty with multiple tours to Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. Through all of his efforts to serve his country, he continued to encourage and inspire the Boot Girls as the organization grew and remained actively engaged during his deployments and shore duty at home. Morgan is the founder and leader for ReBOOT, with a passion to help veterans regain their quality of life after service. Beginning January 1, 2017, Lieutenant (Ret.) Morgan Luttrell, U.S. Navy, began his role as Boot Campaign’s Interim CEO.

Megan

Vice President

Clearly Megan’s effervescence lights up a room even before she enters the doorway!  Megan discovered BC through the recommendation of our Ambassador, Louise Thaxton.  A quick phone call to the BC office in late 2011 led Megan and her team at Veteran’s United Foundation (the charitable arm of Veterans United Home Loans) to become our first corporate sponsor through payroll deductions.  In early fall of 2014, Megan and her husband, Keegan (USAF Vet.) relocated to be closer to family.  It was then she decided she wanted to join the BC team, having fallen in love (her words) with the mission and the people, so many years ago.  Sparks flying, Megan came pounding at the BC door, eager to continue giving back to our military. Megan holds a degree from Columbia College with a BA in Marketing and Management; however, she will admit her proudest moments are centered around her hilarious and busy “offspring,” Landyn and Brityn.

Melissa

Vice President of Finance

Originally from the Houston area with roots now in East Texas, Melissa gets her kicks from crunching numbers and balancing checkbooks! She has vast experience both in the banking industry and in the nonprofit world where she took a break from crunching numbers for a few years and focused on counting volunteers and craft supplies as a Program Director for a preschool program.

Christina

Business Development Director

As the first official employee of the Boot Campaign in the early summer of 2010, one of Christina’s most memorable jobs was to answer the deluge of emails that came in when the Boot Girls first appeared on the Glenn Beck show, which resulted in 3,500 boot orders from all over the country. A Southern Belle at heart, from New Orleans, Christina is now happily living in California with her pilot husband and their two kids, Ayla and Canaan. Christina’s spunky nature, combined with her love of people and the ability to help create the perfect party makes her role of advising individuals and companies on fundraising events a perfect match.

Cole

Ecommerce & Retail Director

Not unlike most of the Boot Campaign staff, Cole joined the team after being an exceptional volunteer.  He jumped at the opportunity to offer up some elbow grease and his mad skillz with a tool belt to turn a plain warehouse into a BC office building. It was late spring. It was hot. It was sweaty season, in Georgetown, TX.  He didn’t care. Cole is happiest when he’s helping others, whether that’s “slinging boots” for customers in our retail and e:commerce store or assisting with a threatened species of Box Turtles. When someone on the BC team is endangered, Cole is always there!  All this from a man who has a BS in Business/Marketing from A&M and a MBA in Business/Marketing from UNT.  He grew up in South Texas. His dad was in the Navy working first as an aircraft/hydraulic mechanic and later attended Naval firefighting school. Admittedly and shamelessly, Cole is a fan of his lovely wife Meredith and his 4 red-headed rascals he calls children.

Meg

Programs Director

JMeg, as she’s lovingly called by the Boot Campaign staff, is our multi-talented Programs Director. Well, perhaps, the highest compliment we could pay this brown-eyed girl would be multi-talented, animated Minion. Much like her favorite animated characters, she loves children (with a degree in Early Childhood Education), has a playful side, and is loyal to a fault when she believes in something! She’s not afraid to try new things which is spelled out in her eclectic job history of working in everything from the restaurant business to an attorney’s office, along with experience in the nonprofit world. Her love of people and behind-the-scenes management skills come in handy given Meg ensures all things programs related – from candidates receiving treatment as part of ReBOOT to acting as the ‘Head Elf’ of Santa Boots – stay organized and progressing. Meg is married to USMC (Ret.) SSGT Joey Jones, her high school sweetheart and Veteran Ambassador for Boot Campaign. She’s also proud to get her boots on as the daughter of a Vietnam era Army ‘Huey’ Pilot and granddaughter of WWII Army Veteran.

Jaime

Program Manager

West Texas-native Jaime Smith has loyalty down to a tee: her husband just so happens to be the same one she called “boyfriend” beginning in third grade, and the self-proclaimed people person has been a licensed practical nurse for more than a decade. As the wife of an active duty Army soldier, Jaime understands the many roles that come with being a military family – she and her husband have two kids – and with more than 15 deployments under their belts, she admits she’s frequently serving as the mom, dad, coach, and friend. After a fortunate meeting with Boot Campaign in spring of 2015, Jaime joined the BC family to coordinate assistance grants for families facing the all-too-familiar challenges that come with living the military life. Jaime signed on as Boot Campaign’s Program Manager in 2016, overseeing the Veteran Ambassador and Patriot League initiatives.

Kelsey

Special Programs Manager

Sgt (Ret.) Kelsey Smith enlisted in the Marine Corps in June of 2003. Upon completion of training and becoming an 0311 (Infantry Rifleman), he was assigned to 3rd Battalion 7th Marines and deployed in February of 2004 to Al Qaim, Iraq. In September of 2005, he deployed to Ramadi, Iraq, where he received shrapnel wounds and was awarded a Purple Heart. He deployed twice more to Iraq in 2007 and 2008, after which he served as a combat instructor for newly commissioned officers and warrant officers at The Basic School in Quantico, Virginia. Since his retirement in 2013, Kelsey graduated at the University of North Texas with a degree in Human Resources and Organizational Behavior, and he also served as the president of the university’s Student Veterans Association. A dedicated advocate for veterans’ issues, Kelsey is an integral part of the Boot Campaign team. He and his wife Reyka are parents to three young daughters: Annika, Mayzie and Charlee Jo.  Whenever he finds time, Kelsey can be found enjoying any activity outdoors or catching a race at a local track.

Lydia

Event & Volunteer Manager

Lydia is a tried and true Texas girl, growing up in Mansfield and spending four and a half years in San Marcos to attend Texas State University. In addition to her Lone Star allegiance, Lydia’s patriotism runs deep. Both grandfathers served our country: her paternal grandfather was a pilot in Vietnam and was sadly killed in action, and her maternal grandfather was a soldier in the Korean War. Her giving spirit, admiration for our nation’s heroes, and heritage from a Gold Star family led her to Boot Campaign. She started as a part-time event coordinator but knew the stars had aligned when she was able to join the team full-time as the Event & Volunteer Manager. Lydia lives near the Guadalupe River in New Braunfels and spends her free time hunting, attending four-wheeler rallies, and getting entirely too emotional watching “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette,” even though she knows they’re mindless and entirely unrealistic.

Jackson

Strategic Partnerships Manager

Jackson is a great example of how volunteering with Boot Campaign can lead to exceptional opportunities. This Texas native was born and raised just outside of Fort Hood and comes from a multigenerational military family. He’s also an expert in the kitchen, after receiving an Associates of Culinary Arts degree from the Culinary Institute of America in New York. But home beckoned and Jackson returned to Texas and went on to receive a Bachelors of Hospitality Management from ​University of North Texas​. Jackson first found Boot Campaign when a friend​ ​asked him to volunteer at an event. Not knowing what he was getting himself into Jackson found​ ​himself intrigued and inspired by the BC mission and the opportunity to work with veterans. Our volunteers, staff, and veterans alike appreciated Jackson’s enthusiasm and passion, so when he expressed interest in our strategic partnerships role we knew he would be the perfect fit. Jackson has a pretty contagious personality and it’s hard not to have fun whenever he is around.

Kristen

Donor Relations Manager

Kristen’s ties to the military run deep. With her father, grandfather and brother all being US military veterans, she has a true patriots heart! While during her senior year at Texas A&M, she decided to forgo her plan to continue her education after graduation and instead, focus on giving back. Kristen discovered BC through our Boot Ride- San Antonio which she rode in with her father, & she’s been sold on the BC mission ever since. Originally from the Houston area, she loves to travel and hopes to hit all 50 States and maybe even a few more continents as a part of her bucket list.

Beth

Admin/Finance Manager

Beth was born and raised in southern Oklahoma, the daughter of a Southern Baptist preacher whose profession allowed her to meet countless brave servicemen and women. While moving to Texas her senior year of high school was at first a major tragedy for young Beth, she did meet her husband in college and all was right with the world. She started out as an orthodontic assistant for Boot Girl Sherri, but joined the Boot Campaign team without hesitation on day one. Beth initially volunteered her time every chance she got, and moved into her role as Administrative Coordinator in 2016. She loves playing a part in changing lives for the better and showing gratitude to those who served. Beth and her husband have two young kids and love traveling, entertaining, and just hanging out together when they can.
