A Home Fit for a Hero

/

This was Robert M.’s house. At 76 years old, the Army veteran had lived here throughout childhood and most of his adult years, despite fire damage and mounting disrepair. When city officials condemned and then demolished the only home he had ever known, his local community rallied around him to rebuild, turning to the Boot Campaign for the last $10,000 needed to get the project off the ground. Thanks to the generous support from Louise Thaxton and Fairway Mortgage, that critical funding was available to give Robert the home he deserves.

Boot Campaign’s Military Recovery Fund provides financial assistance to military families when they need it most. Construction on Robert’s new home is underway and he’s looking forward to spending next Christmas under his own (new) roof. The Boot Campaign can’t wait to see him get the keys.house plans
